Technical Specifications

Terracotta roofing tiles are baked clay slabs designed for sloped roofs to provide natural insulation and weatherproofing. Made from natural refined clay fired at high temperatures (typically 1000°C–1100°C), they are globally popular for traditional, Mediterranean, and tropical-style structures.

FEATURES

DURABLE

SURFACE TREATMENT

Indoor/Outdoor

Core Benefits

Thermal Insulation

The low thermal conductivity of fired clay keeps indoor spaces noticeably cooler in summer by blocking solar radiation.

Extreme Durability

High-quality baked terracotta easily lasts over 50 years and withstands severe UV radiation, frost, and chemical degradation.

Fire & Weather Resistance

Fired clay is completely non-combustible and heavy enough to resist getting dislodged by strong winds.

Eco-Friendly Lifespan

Manufactured entirely from natural topsoil clay without toxic additives, making them fully recyclable.

Installation Essentials

Minimum Slope

They require installation on pitched or sloped structures with an inclination of 15 degrees or higher to ensure proper gravity drainage.

Overlapping

Tiles must have a recommended minimum 75 mm overlap to prevent capillary water action from leaking underneath.

Structural Load

Terracotta is heavy; ensure your underlying wooden or steel truss framing is engineered to support the dead load.

Low Pitch Exceptions

You must install a heavy-duty waterproof underlayment sheet beneath the framework to stop wind-driven rain.
